Warranty
Warranty:
We stand behind our products. Vaer offers a warranty of 1 year from purchase for Pre-Owned watches. This warranty is for the original owner and is non-transferable. If you experience any issues due to functionality, we’ll either repair your pre-owned watch or provide store credit to our Pre-Owned shop. Your watch is meant to be taken in the water and used in daily life, so if your watch for some reason fails in the water during warranty period, you can reach out to us, and we’ll make it right - is critical that your crown is sealed during regular usage - if your crown is not sealed during water exposure, warranty will be voided.
It is truly important that you're happy with your Vaer experience -- if you run into issues, please feel free to reach out to us at team@vaerdesign.com.
This warranty does not cover aesthetic wear, normal wear and tear, damage due to impact, batteries, loss or theft. It is critical that your screw down crown is always sealed when you enter water, as this will ensure that your watch is watertight. If it is found through testing that the screw down crown was left open during water exposure, warranty will be voided, though we will work with you to get your watch fixed or replaced for a fair fee. Regardless of your issues, don’t hesitate to reach out to our team with questions or concerns.
This warranty applies only to purchases directly from the Vaer website or a Vaer Authorized Dealer to the original owner. If purchase order number is not available from the Vaer website, then a proof of purchase will be required.
Automatic Timing & Accuracy:
Mechanical movements are less accurate than quartz movements, as there are many more "physical" technical components at play.
All of our watches are adjusted before shipment to ensure that they are operating within the movement manufacturer's accuracy specifications. These specifications are the average daily rates when the watch is operating at full power.
- Average daily rate of -5 / + 15 seconds/day
- There are many factors (temperature, activity, power, etc.) that will vary performance over any day. As the watch's charge runs down (especially below 1/2 of its power reserve), the accuracy will change. In order to ensure that you're getting a true depiction of your watch's accuracy, ensure that you wind it 20-30 turns before measuring timekeeping.
A watch may run fast or slow if the balance of a watch may be damaged from impact - this will require adjustment by a watch maker and is not covered by warranty.
If your watch begins to run very fast (minutes per day), then it has likely become magnetized. This is not uncommon, as magnetic fields are all around us - this could occur from exposure to speakers, cell phones, computers, or a variety of other conditions. The process of demagnetizing (removing magnetization) is a relatively simply process that can be done by watchmakers at an affordable cost. If you enjoy taking on projects yourself, you can purchase a "degausser" on Amazon to demagnetize yourself. Warranty does not cover demagnetization of your watch.
Quartz Watch Second Hand Alignment
Variance for second hand alignment for hand assembled quartz watches is completely normal, therefore is not treated as a warranty or replacement claim You'll even find second hand alignment to be varied on "luxury" watches like Tag, Omega, and Tissot. This is normal and is due to the play required for proper working of the movement gear train, and has absolutely nothing to do with timekeeping precision. We actually wrote up an awesome article in our journal specifically about this topic if you're interested in reading more. https://journal.vaerwatches.com/watch-second-hand-not-aligned/
